Google android apps crashing issue has thousands of users stranded as most of their apps are crashing unexpectedly. A lot of android users have been facing force shutdowns of apps such as Gmail, Chrome in their android devices. While many users have already factory restored their devices to fix the issue, we have a guide by which there will be no need for a factory reset.
As confirmed by Google, the issue was due to a bad update pushed to the Android SystemView component. Since the bad, update Google has already pulled the bad update and replaced it with a new version.
However, if you are still facing the android apps crashing issue then all you have to do is update the Android SystemView and Google Chrome on your Android Device to fix the Google android apps crashing issue.
Before you do that, a simple clearing of data may also help your cause.
- Go to Settings >
- Apps and Notifications >
- Google Play Store >
- Storage and Cache >
- Clear Data
Please be noted that as per Google, you may lose some of your Play Store Settings which may include auto-updates and Parental Control.
If the issue still persists on your device then all the apps on your device that use the service “Webview System Component” which is responsible for displaying web content using “Google Chrome” will keep crashing.

The first solution is to uninstall the faulty “Android System WebView” which can be found through this link.
If somehow you are unable to uninstall then you might want to try the following steps.

- Apps & Notifications >
- See all apps >
- Android System WebView >
- Tap the top right corner with the three dots > Uninstall updates > Confirm.
The steps above are based on Android 11 but will work for other versions as well with slight changes in names.
